As a follow-up to my previous post, Dollhouse’s companion show, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, has been canceled instead. According mouthpiece Kevin Reilly, “It was not an either or [with Dollhouse]…ultimately, we made the bet on Dollhouse, so that’s it for [Sarah Connor]…” Of course, that’s doublespeak for “We had a choice between two failing shows, and we picked the newer one.”
Either way, my point from the previous post stands. It will take somebody like Terminator’s director getting frustrated enough to decide that his/her creative idea is worth pursuing independently, coupled with a small but loyal fanbase to get things started. With his rabid army of supporter-worshipers, Joss Whedon could be an excellent impetus for independent television; however, a cult-spawing show like Terminator could do the same.

Haha, no kidding. Did you end up watching Epitaph One, the “lost” 13th Dollhouse episode? I love that one and it almost completely changed my opinion of the show. So far the second season’s been interesting; I have high hopes. I still miss Terminator and would gladly have it back instead of “The Vampire Diaries” or whatever.

And Shirley Manson, And Lena Headey, as well. (Maybe it’s just me, but Lena Headey was one of the reasons I tuned in. The woman that played “Jessie” was also good….you get the idea. Dollhouse is little more than a badly-thought-out fashion show.
Terminator had solid plot, lots of explosions/gunfire/auto wrecks, AND hot chicks.
I miss that show.
Terminator started losing its way when it got hung up on that “three dots” bit with Sarah Connor. They got back on track after a few episodes but I think that was the point where it started hemorrhaging viewers.
Summer Glau, at least, should be in a few Dollhouse episodes, so we’ll see what happens there.
