Winter Weekend Beach Adventure

Blog Posts

A bunch of us went to the beach this weekend, because we live in SoCal and we can. Great times with some good company! Of course, Rachel was one of the few who went all the way into the water – child’s play for  a girl who goes swimming in the ocean during Maryland’s winter.

Custom Chucks (or, Best Wife Ever)

Blog Posts

Rachel’s Christmas present to me was a pair of customized Converse All Stars. I’m clearly not an impartial observer when it comes to handing out the Best Wife Ever award, but you’ve got to admit these are some sweet shoes. Scott Pilgrim

Blog Posts

My friend Jeff first introduced me to Scott Pilgrim when we were still in Maryland. Jerks that we are, we moved before the movie came out. It seemed like a good film to invite my fellow first year MD/PhD students to come see with me, but it turned out they were in Canada, Japan, and [...]

Blog Posts

After living in California for over a month, we’re traveling back to Maryland for our friends’ wedding. It almost feels like coming home, but then it doesn’t, because we’ve had a bit of time to become accustomed to our new place being home. While we’re back, we’re going to be in a madcap dash to [...]

Shoe Lacing Extravaganza

Blog Posts

Several years ago Rachel picked up “Show Me How” on impulse, a book with hundreds of random things to learn how to do to make yourself more leet. I mean, when the situation arises where an alligator has to be wrestled or a baby delivered, who doesn’t want to be the one who steps up [...]
